Bintracon wraps the Bintray REST API in Objective-C to allow iOS and OSX applicatoins to communicate with it. Bintray is a software publishing and sharing service for developers, acting as a host and server for binary packages. Packages, users, and organizations have profile pages which, along with other functions, can be managed with the the Bintray RESTful API.
Appy Pie, cloud based mobile apps builder, has announced the inclusion of two new music APIs for its Do-it-Yourself mobile application platform. Integration with the SoundCloud and Beatport APIs will allow users to access their music libraries remotely without consuming mobile device memory.
Today, Heroku makes a huge announcement around its support for PHP. PHP is currently one of the most popular languages driving the web. Although PHP drives the likes of some of the webs giants (e.g. Facebook, Etsy, etc.), PHP has traditionally lacked some qualities (e.g. runtime, management, infrastructure elements) that peers like Ruby on Rails, Python with Django, and Node have delivered for quite some time. On April 30, at Facebook's F8, a new PHP is announced with full Heroku support. On the evening of the announcement, ProgrammableWeb caught up with Heroku's Adam Gross.
