BitlyDotNET is a .NET wrapper written in C# for interacting with Bit.ly, the URL shortener service. Though not directly supported by Bit.ly, Bit.ly endorses this code library on their developer site. The Bit.ly API allows developers to implement programmatic shortening, sharing, and tracking of links (URLs). Unique user-level and aggregate links can also be created to let users view complete, real-time traffic and referrer data, as well as location and metadata.
Splice Machine prides itself on being the only transactional SQL-on-Hadoop database aimed at giving developers an easy-to-learn tool for managing big data in the enterprise. ProgrammableWeb spoke with Splice Machine's CEO Monte Zweben at the recent API World and Data Week conference in San Francisco - where they won a Top Innovator award - to discuss how API developers can access the best-of-both-worlds SQL and NoSQL database engine to return contextual and personalization data in realtime.
Pusher has established itself as a leading service for delivering WebSocket messages to connected clients via its simple, RESTful Pusher API. This especially suits application developers working with languages and platforms that struggle to maintain and scale persistent connections. We remove the need to roll a custom solution and work with complex and unfamiliar technologies, and ensure the benefits of a hosted service can be achieved. We've recently added support for WebHooks, which provide a different sort of real-time solution.
