Developers can build applications that offer print-on-demand services, using the Mimeo Connect Cloud Print API. Mimeo.com has long had a SOAP API, but has recently built an easier-to-use RESTful API for developers.
Google Cloud Platform is positioning itself as a major player to help mobile developers get off the block fast. While the platform was complete in terms of its Compute Engine (IaaS), App Engine (PaaS) and cloud services (Storage, Big Query, etc), developers still had to do the work of connecting the pieces. If you were a mobile developer who wanted a quick starter application in the Google cloud, you had to figure out the pieces. The Amazon Web Services team has announced a new "Requester Pays" pricing model for their Simple Storage Service (S3). Amazon's S3 service, which provides scalable access to Amazon's online data storage infrastructure, enables customers to rapidly scale their platform using a cost effective pay-as-you-go model. Now, the new S3 Requester Pays Model gives S3 customers the built-in ability to charge their users for specific data transfers. Furthermore, Amazon takes care of the billing for the requested data, eliminating excess accounting overhead for the data providers. From their announcement:
