This repository holds Ruby integrations for ElasticSearch, including a client to the ElasticSearch cluster and a Ruby API to interface with the ElasticSearch API. ElasticSearch is a data analysis, monitoring, and search platform. ElasticSearch provides multiple products for monitoring, searching, and organizing data. The ElasticSearch API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of ElasticSearch with other applications.
As far as web search tools go, few have generated as much hype as Wolfram Alpha. The service, which bills itself as a "computational knowledge engine," differs from search engines such as Google, in that it does not return lists of web pages. Rather, Wolfram Alpha attempts to calculate answers to user queries. For example, a query of "los angeles county median household income" will return the result "$43,518."
While most organizations are still struggling with just how to cope with giving mobile computing devices access to the corporate network, a second wave of mobile computing is already starting to gain momentum.
Microsoft's latest version of its search API (our Live Search API Profile), which was released last November as a public beta, seems to be gaining quite a bit of momentum. According to a recent post on the Live Search Blog, the API is serving more than 3 billion queries per month, more than 5,000 applications to use the API, and queries from third party sites account for 80% of the API's query volume.
