BitTorrent, peer-to-peer file sharing provider, has announced an API for its increasingly popular BitTorrent Sync service. The BitTorrent Sync API is aimed at developers who desire to build apps and workflows that leverage BitTorrent Sync capabilities. Whether the app plays in social media, enterprise apps, communications, or otherwise; the API will enable decentralized syncing of data for increased privacy, security, efficiency, and less reliance on infrastructure.
Google is making it even easier for developers wishing to implement OpenID with the OAuth. Google has announced that developers can now utilize a "Hybrid Protocol" that combines the OpenID federated login with the OAuth authorization process. The new OpenID OAuth extension makes it easier for developers to implement OAuth through initial authentication using OpenID. According to Yariv Adan on the Google Data APIs Blog:
It is expected that with Android 11, Google will add new App Compatibility features within developer options that will simplify the application testing process. The new features will operate on a per-app basis and display behavior changes based on API level.
