Today at its latest Campfire One event, Google announced major updates to Google App Engine, their scalable cloud computing platform for web applications. App Engine developers will soon be able to create web-scale applications using standard Java APIs, and will be able to create AJAX components using Google's Web Toolkit. Other major features include cron support for scheduling tasks, tools for securely accessing and importing data, and a new Google development plugin for the Eclipse IDE.
Talkray is a mobile application created by TiKL, a company also known for its TiKL Touch To Talk walkie-talkie application for Android and iPhone. Talkray is the company's broader communications app that allows users to make phone calls as well as send and receive text messages and photos. Talkray's API makes it possible for developers to add things like voice calling and text chats to their applications.
Apigee, the API company, recently announced the launch of a new API Management Solution optimized for software-defined networking (SDN) environments. Apigee's API Management for the Software-Defined Network (SDN), provides the tools required to "build, manage and scale applications for the programmable datacenter."
