The Google Chromecast Android library aims to integrate Cast features into applications in a fast and easy way. Cast attributes comprise media controls, device discovery, and streaming service. Resources to work in Java include dependencies, setup instructions, and updated lists of interfaces and methods. This library interacts with Android devices that can display entertainment on a TV screen.
GoPollGo is all about creating polls, from running them during presidential debates to coworkers polling each other on where to go for lunch. It has two APIs. One is a public read-only API free to anyone. The other is private, in beta that allows third parties to create polls. Clients such as ESPN, Netflix, Hotels.com, Robert Scoble, AppleInsider and The Weather Channel, use GoPollGo to track opinions on their brands and businesses.
You may remember the full featured, unpublished API from popular mobile photo sharing site Instagram that we covered last month. The interface was reverse engineered by a developer and today Instagram asked anyone using its private, unofficial Instagram API to stop. At the same time, it announced a beta public API would be coming soon.
The non-profit built for "opening America's government" has created an app to show off its Congressional data, as well as its API (our Sunlight Labs API profile). You can't get this app on the web, though, as it's available exclusively for the Android phone platform.
