TouchTunes, the world's largest jukebox network, has opened up its APIs for the first time. The TouchTunes platform pulls data from over 60,000 locations. The platform enables the various locations to enjoy social interactions through shared experiences. Since the platform's original release in 2011, TouchTunes has always envisioned developers would be able to build on top of its platform. Now, TouchTunes is making that vision a reality.
mBLAST has enhanced its mPACT API product in an attempt to target the academic community. Virtual-Strategy.com tells us that the new feature, titled mPACT API PhD,
"Is designed to provide discovery, scoring and analytics across traditional and social media for academic administrators and faculty alike, providing solutions to assist in faculty recruitment and assessment, in development and in alumni engagement."
The enhancement allows academic institutions to search for scholarly material presented by academics in non-traditional venues (e.g. blogs, social media, etc.).
Guidebook, providers of a platform for building mobile applications, unveiled an open-source API. Guidebook's API lets users extract valuable data and content that can then be pushed to custom mobile apps. A range of features, such as group discussions, social feeds, and more can be leveraged.
