This Java library may be used to call the Google Kubernetes API from an application written in Java. This software is Licensed under the Apache Software Foundation. Kubernetes is a container cluster manager made by Google that is optimized for Google Cloud Platform and is open source and free to implement. Across predetermined node instances, Kubernetes is able to schedule container replicas. A master instance will call the Kubernetes API in order to define tasks. Developers can customize the number and type of containers to be created according to the circumstance.
WS-REST.org has announced that it will host the fifth edition of the International Workshop on Web APIs and RESTful Design at the 23rd International World Wide Web Conference this April in Seoul, South Korea. The first workshop was held in 2010. As APIs have continued to drive innovation in the connected world, the workshop has continued to refine its scope of study, broaden its expectations and increase interest. As the organizers begin to develop this years agenda, PW caught up with Carlos Pedrinaci, a research fellow at The Open University, UK, and one of the event organizers.
Google wasted no time making major announcements at its Chrome Dev Summit conference. Of particular interest were new education programs, Google Play expansions, and developer manuals that reflect Google's latest tools. Google is live streaming many events throughout the conference.
Exversion is hoping the need to access wide-ranging open datasets has matured enough to create a viable business as an open data marketplace. Their new Exversion API provides developers with a RESTful interface to search and access the open datasets stored on the Exversion data platform. At present, the API returns queries in JSON or XML format, with full XML support to be provided in the near future.
