This Java library may be used to call the Google Kubernetes API from an application written in Java. This software is Licensed under the Apache Software Foundation. Kubernetes is a container cluster manager made by Google that is optimized for Google Cloud Platform and is open source and free to implement. Across predetermined node instances, Kubernetes is able to schedule container replicas. A master instance will call the Kubernetes API in order to define tasks. Developers can customize the number and type of containers to be created according to the circumstance.
Google continues to churn out releases to its platform-as-a-service Google App Engine API. Since the beginning of the year, there have been new releases every 4-6 weeks. The latest is out with focus on bringing parity between its Java and Python releases, a couple of new APIs that allow writing applications that monitor incoming live data and read/write files, and some task queue/cron updates.
IKANOW, open source big data platform provider, has released a Developer API. Much in line with the company's broader mission and message, the goal of the API showcases focus and simplicity: "[M]ake it simple for developers to gather, harvest and enrich a diverse array of structured and unstructured datasources and build compelling data driven applications." IKANOW built the Developer API on its Infinit.e platform (i.e. its flagship analytics product).
Blizzard Entertainment, the maker of the popular World of Warcraft massively multiplayer online role-playing game, is making changes to a number of its APIs. Earlier this month, it announced pending Mythic Challenge Mode API changes, including the removal of keystone affixes.
