Postman has added a new Mock Server feature to its popular HTTP client for testing Web services. Now frontend developers and API engineers can simulate API endpoints in a Postman Collection without the need to spin up a backend server and without the hindrances caused by development dependencies.
This is the final part of our API Testing series. In this article we will talk about what's coming up in the near future that will change how we test and deliver new APIs. Included are looks at the possible effects of newer architectural styles such as GraphQL and gRPC, and new tooling.
Continuing the theme from this morning; namely that speakers should share the mistakes and ugly truths behind their API successes, this afternoon's sessions at the API Strategy and Practice Conference gave attendees a peek under the hood. Speaking to issues that matter to API consumers, we heard nuts and bolts talks centered on API testing, monitoring and debugging.
