Google just made it easier for more developers to get paid in more countries around the world. The company expanded how consumers can pay for apps in the Play Store, and added to the number of countries that can sell apps.
MTN has expanded developer access to its Mobile Money API. The API allows developers to build applications and services that automate the collection of bills, fees, and taxes; as well as the distribution of collected fees. Prior to the Ghana release, MTN had opened the API to developers in Uganda.
Twelve APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Financial, Billing, and Feedback. Some highlights include the Gfycat API for programmatic access to the animated GIF platform, and the Rev.io API for usage-based billing functions. Here's a look at what is new.
