Single purpose API
Sorry, No followers
For any business or website that relies on user or customer interaction, communication is important, and often the only point of contact a business may have with that customer is an email address. This is where email validation can lend a helping hand; as long as mail can be successfully sent to an address all is good, but if there's some issue causing failed delivery and other errors, better to know about it. Email Pie is a free, JSON API that provides a simple way to validate email addresses.
Twenty One APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Transportation, Email, and Financial. Featured today are some smart city APIs: One for finding clean water in Flint, Michigan, and three more for use with the City of Chicago's bike sharing program.
Guerilla Mail is a simple idea with one purpose: to avoid spam. The idea is dead simple: go to the website, it gives you a random e-mail address that's good for one hour, and links to nothing else. Register for sites or whatever with it, and then never worry about it again. Although the web service is convenient, sometimes it's not everything you need. For those cases, one might want to look into using the Guerilla Mail API.
