Whether it's sending a quick text, sending an email or 'checking in' on a social network, technology has made this easy enough to achieve while on the go. Oh Hey World is a service that makes use of all these options in the form of a simple application that allows users to share their location across multiple social networks, via text and email, with just one click. Oh Hey World's API makes this functionality available to developers who may want to integrate it with other applications.
Urbanesia, the leading Indonesian lifestyle directory website, announced the launch of an open API. The open API enables third-party developers to incorporate Urbanesia's location data into third-party apps. The API allows developers to retrieve location data generally or in categories (e.g. restaurants, tourist spots, etc.). Selina Limman, Urbanesia CEO, commented: "We hope Urbanesia’s API can increase the developers’ creativity as they can [now] focus more on application development rather than data collection."
Gravity, focused on personalizing the internet, has launched a new series of free APIs to further its mission. The APIs enable web publishers to recommend content to users in addition to sponsored stories from paying advertisers. Prior to the API offering, Gravity tools provided recommendations based on demographic and interests through widgets and home page personalization. The API should expand Gravity's reach into mobile apps and deeper web adoption.
