Here is an interview with Scott Gimpel Founder and CEO of FantasyData.com. The site used to be known as NFLdata.com and provides NFL statistics. The site claims to have almost 25 million API calls /month during football season with over 300 developers working with it's API.
We had a look at the Ergast Developer API , which basically covers car racing for Formula 1 enthusiasts and an interesting mashup using the Shiny statistical platform for web applications. We also had a look at the ESPN API which covers the Formula 1 sport but also the NASCAR racing.
Check your team, look up player stats and see the league's latest transactions, all from Yahoo's latest API. Fantasy baseball and football are both supported now, with options for hockey and basketball expected in time for their seasons. And the API supports OAuth, so developers could create new interfaces to almost every feature of Yahoo Fantasy Sports.
