But the folks at Rave Mobile Safety have determined that giving first responders access to a wide variety of data sources can save lives. A new Smart911Connect offering from Rave Mobile Safety allows emergency response centers accessing the company’s Smart911 database to leverage a set of APIs to access everything from building floor plans to healthcare records.
At a company event in San Francisco yesterday, Microsoft launched the highly anticipated Windows Phone 8. Chris Velazco of TechCrunch was in attendance at the event, and reported that in addition to the launch of the new Windows Phone, Microsoft announced that the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 will be available for developers to download October 30, 2012.
YouMail launched its Spam Risk API. YouMail uses algorithms to analyze a database of hundreds of millions of phone numbers to determine the likelihood a particular phone number is spam. Historical call patterns and crowdsourced data are combined to determine an OK, caution, or danger designation.
