Mashups using the same API (2609)
API Strategy and Practice officially kicked off in Amsterdam this morning. After yesterday’s afternoon workshop sessions (see our separate coverage of the CitySDK workshop), this morning commenced with a packed room of developers, API providers, service managers, business innovators, and startup entrepreneurs, all ready to spend the next two days talking APIs.
You know all those mobile applications you use? There's important data behind where and when you use it. With Titanium+Geo, that data becomes accessible. The new platform for location analytics is a partnership from Appcelerator and FortiusOne, providers of the GeoIQ API that collects and displays the data.
For several years millions have shared the places they've been using the Where I've Been website and Facebook application. The site also has an API (our Where I've Been API profile), which allows for much of the same functionality, such as searching countries, marking it visited and adding content such as a story or photo.
