NFLData.com has taken some aggressive steps to position itself as a market leader in sports data with the release of the NFL Data.com API. Sports data tools – already playing a crucial part in the business side of many international sports – is set to see further demand as fans expect greater access to up-to-the-minute stats and as a new raft of fan and athlete-based startups are created around international and local competitions.
Earlier this week Microsoft announced that it is making some of the imagery used in its Virtual Earth platform available for purchase (more on Virtual Earth in our VE SDK profile). The imagery, taken with Microsoft's proprietary UltraCam shown below is available for approximately 200 cities (in high resolution and averaging less than two years old).
In partnership with DataWeek, we're organizing a half day event next Wednesday, September 26, in San Francisco.
