Multicom, global travel marketplace, has announced the launch of a new cruise API. The API will integrate into Multicom's award winning FindandBook booking system for flights, hotel accommodations, and other travel related resources. Multicom expects the API to streamline cruise bookings for agents and online travel agencies.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) last week ran a competition that involved identifying the location of 10 fixed red balloons throughout the United States. It was an exercise designed to see how people can self-organize on the Internet and how information disseminates through social and viral networks. It was won by MIT, taking just 9 hours to find 10 red balloons placed all over the United States.

If you are interested in find out that information there's now a solution: AddressingHistory. AddressingHistory is a recently launched web app and API that provides access to historical data consisting of digitised Scottish post office directories combined with maps from the same time period.
