Air France-KLM Cargo Launches API for Freight Booking

Franco-Dutch airline carrier Air France-KLM (AF-KLM) recently unveiled a new API that will power an online freight-booking tool. The API is the latest result of a three-year process to modernize the carriers’ legacy system, some of which date back to the 1980s.

For freight forwarders, the API will make all of the processes in the AF-KLM’s myCargo Platform available to developers. The platform allows freight forwarders to look up real-time online quotes and book cargo space on flights on behalf of customers without the need to directly engage with shippers. At this point only partner forwarders will have access to myCargo.

Air France and KLM first merged in 2004 and this API represents another step in the carrier’s ongoing effort to standardize processes companywide. For more information about AF-KLM’s API program, interested developers can visit the Portal.
