Backblaze has announced S3 compatible APIs for its B2 Cloud Storage. Backblaze's B2 Cloud Storage APIsTrack this API have been around for a while. However, they haven't been compatible with S3 and Backblaze indicates S3 compatibility is the most requested feature it receives. The older APIs aren't going away, but the new S3 compatible APIs should massively improve Integration opportunities for Backblaze users.
"In practical terms, this launch means that you can now instantly plug into the Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage service by doing little more than pointing your data to a new destination," Gleb Budman, Backblaze co-founder and CEO, commented in a blog post announcement. "There’s no need to write new code, no change in workflow, and no downtime."
Backblaze has introduced the new APIs with a series of launch partners. Early adopters include IBM Aspera, Quantum, and Veeam.
