Baron, a weather intelligence company, has announced the Baron Weather API for Public Safety. Through the API, developers can integrate quality-controlled weather data into devices and services of many kinds. From websites and apps to desktops and smartphones, the integration capability of weather data is vast and the Baron API is ready to serve.
The API is accessible through the API website, which gives users intuitive access to the API itself and helpful resources. The website includes documentation, customer dashboard, current data, key display and more. Additionally, users can take a look at over 200 meteorological data products, 60 of which are exclusive to Baron.
Data included through the API includes current conditions, forecasts, storm tracking, severe conditions, ETAs for specific locations, and more. Other products already integrated with the Baron API include Pinpoint Alerting (push notifications of specific weather as it approaches areas), Road Conditions data (shows weather impact to certain roadways), and Critical Weather Indicators (highlights locations with potential tornadoes).
The API can be used in any coding language. It can also be integrated into any GIS platform. It uses both JSON and TMS data formats and features RESTful architecture. Check out the website to learn more.
