Bigstock Launches New API Program, Partners with CafePress and Emma

Bigstock, a leading royalty-free stock photo marketplace and image community, has just announced the launch of a new API program. In addition, Bigstock has formed new partnerships with CafePress and Emma allowing both companies to make Bigstock images available to their users by integrating the Bigstock API with their platforms.

CafePress now offers Bigstock images for purchase which can be used to create custom, personalized products such as t-shirts, mugs and posters. Emma is a web-based email marketing service and users are now able to add Bigstock images in email newsletters, surveys and other online marketing materials.

The new Bigstock API program provides developers and partners access to millions of images and image data. The API is RESTful and the responses are returned in JSON data format, JSONP data format is also supported. According to the documentation that Bigstock provides on their website, The API offers six types of requests: search, categories, image detail, purchase, download, lightboxes and saved images. Purchase and download API calls require a secret key for Authentication.

In the announcement, Bigstock General Manager Ben Pfeifer comments that:

"Images are a core part of many products and services, and we are excited to help our partners deliver the best possible experience to their users. Today is an important milestone for us, marking our commitment to reach new audiences through technology-driven partnerships."

Developers and others interested in becoming a Bigstock API partner can sign up for an account and an API Key at the BigStockPhoto website.
