March 3 saw the unscheduled maintenance of the Clash Of Clans servers. Problem is, it seems that some API issues arose at the same time. Could it be linked? In an article on Product Reviews, the author indicates that users have demanded that developers issue another fix to address the situation.
With the goal of making improvements to the servers, Clash of Clans developers issued a maintenance update and had the game up and running again just a few hours later. Standard procedure it seemed, but users who had not been experiencing any problems before the update were suddenly faced with several issues after the update. Most just assumed that the problems must have been caused by said update.
Some of the issues that have been reported include users not being able to access the game API and responses like "no account on this device," indicating that there is no account available to access. Needless to say, this has been causing a lot of confusion and frustration.
Of course, this may all be a coincidence and it may have nothing to do with the maintenance update at all. Some forums show that several users have found that their issues have, in fact, been a result of the Google Play Services update, and by reverting to an older version, have seemed to solve the problem for now.
