Clearcover Expands its Car Insurance API Platform

Clearcover, a technology-driven car insurance provider, has announced that the company has expanded its car insurance API platform. In addition to the Clearcover Quote API, the platform now features SmartLink and the Clearcover Lead API. Using these APIs, partners can integrate with applications Clearcover platform capabilities such as data collection, display prices, and view changes to coverage elections.

The company tested its Quote API earlier this year. The Quote API allows Clearcover partner apps to gather all the necessary data to receive a Clearcover car insurance quote. The quote is then provided to the app user before they complete the final steps within the Clearcover environment to purchase the insurance. SmartLink is a feature that makes it possible for partner apps to provide users a landing page experience by passing basic data via a URL instead of an API call. And the Clearcover Lead API allows partners in industries outside of insurance to share data programmatically and present Clearcover directly to their customers before transferring over to Clearcover to complete a purchase.

"Selling auto insurance is a complex process. That’s why the industry has been relying on the same distribution methods for the last 30 years. Unfortunately, those methods have failed to keep up with rapidly changing consumer behaviors," said Adam Fischer, VP of Product at Clearcover, in a prepared statement. "We designed our APIs with two goals in mind: help make the purchasing process easy and cost-effective for our customers, and help make the integration process seamless for our partners so they can easily tap into the $231 billion US auto insurance market."
