Daily API RoundUp: Apple Mapkit, Bugfender, City of Seattle, Admiralty

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Ten APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Cryptocurrency, Monitoring, and Mapping. Highlights include APIs for programmatic access to the City of Seattle datasets, and the Apple MapKit JS API and SDK. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

Apple MapKit JS, currently in beta release, is a new JavaScript Library that lets developers add interactive maps to web pages. The Apple MapKit JavaScript API allows indirect access to the Mapkit JavaScript SDK. MapKit enables developers to display map or satellite imagery from an application's interface, including points of interest, and placemark information for map coordinates. The MapKit service uses the Google Mobile Maps (GMM) to provide map data. The Apple Mapkit JS API is listed under the Mapping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Mapping APIs.

See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Cryptocurrency APIs.

Bugfender is a provider of "Cloud Storage for Your App Logs." The Bugfender API performs remote logging functions for iOS and Android applications. Bugfender stores application logs on the Bugfender server and creates a remote console where developers can view logs in real time. Bugfender logs nearly everything, not just app crashes, and even continues to log when the device is offline. This is an indirect API that can only be accessed via SDKs, including the Bugfender Cordova SDK, Bugfender, iOS SDK, Bugfender Xamarin SDK, Bugfender SLF4J Java SDK and Bugfender macOS SDK. The API is listed under the Monitoring category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Monitoring APIs.
