Daily API RoundUp: Automatic SDKs, I Am Real, mash:it

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Seven APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory today, in categories such as Screenshots, Tools, and Validation. Also added were SDKs for use with the Automatic connected car platform.

APIs

Screenshotlayer provides developers with the Screenshotlayer API to integrate screenshot capabilities into their applications. This REST API delivers high-quality PNG, JPEG, and GIF website screenshots and is compatible with multiple applications, frameworks, and programming languages. We’ve primarily categorized the Screenshotlayer API under the Screenshots category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Screenshots APIs.

Developers can integrate applications with the Vatlayer service via the Vatlayer API. This API offers instant European Union (EU) Value Added Tax (VAT) number validation, VAT compliant price calculations, and VAT rates for all 28 current member states of the EU. We’ve primarily categorized the Vatlayer API under the Financial category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Financial APIs.

mash:it is a web tool that enables users to test and use various fonts and colors on websites. The Mashit API allows developers to integrate their applications with the Mashit tools. We’ve listed the the Mashit API under the Tools category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Tools APIs.

I Am Real aims to prevent “Catfishing.” The service enables developers of websites and applications and content providers to verify users against their online profiles. The company provides three APIs for integration of these validation services. The Social Validation API allows developers to authenticate users by using their Facebook profile. The Video Validation API lets developers authenticate users by comparing images captured of the user as well as voice matching. And the SMS Validation API allows developers to integrate their applications with an SMS Validation service, enabling them to authenticate users with a phone number provided by the user.

Netissime is a French web-hosting company. The Netissime Web Services API allows developers to integrate their application with Netissime services, enabling their users to get domain names that are hosted by Netissime. We’ve primarily categorized the Netissime Web Services API under the Hosting category. See more Hosting APIs listed on ProgrammableWeb.

Clients

Automatic is a wireless device that connects a person’s car and smartphone through the car’s data port. It enables communication with the car’s onboard computer and upgrades the engine capabilities using the smartphone’s GPS and data plan. The Automatic REST API returns objects by tags, retrieves trip information, and retrieves basic user account information. The Automatic Real-Time Events API allows developers to access event data from Automatic and send it to a listener URL on an application. Automatic has two SDKS available for use with the APIs:

Automatic Android JAVA SDK allows developers to build Android apps for Automatic. This SDK can be used by both the Automatic REST API and the Automatic Real-Time Events API to create a login for apps through the Automatic login.

Automatic iOS Objective-C SDK allows developers to build iOS apps for Automatic. This SDK can be used by both the Automatic REST API and the Automatic Real-Time Events API to create a login for apps through the Automatic login.
