Daily API RoundUp: BBVA Compass, Icons8, UpCall, RetinaLyze

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Eighteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Healthcare, Databases, Blockchain, Telephony, Images and Privacy. Highlights today include several BBVA Compass Banking APIs. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

APIs

Icons8 provides an extensive ISO compliant icon library. The Icons8 API allows developers to search and retrieve icons that can be used for template customization, build graphic and text editors, and to integrate with any application with customization features. The Icons8 API requires API Keys for authentication. Fees are paid on a monthly basis, and licensing is free for established open source projects. The Icons8 API is listed under the Images category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Images APIs.

uProc offers tools to enhance and enrich database fields. Organizations utilizing the uProc API can benefit from improved internal data flows, better campaigns, classification, and cost reduction. uProc can validate emails, phones or add several fields to a database for better a segmentation. Also, uProc improves forms, and unifies databases. The uProc API is listed under the Data-as-a-Service category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Data-as-a-Service APIs.

Staffbase provides internal communication tools for employees. The Staffbase User API adds corporate communications and collaboration capabilities to existing messaging applications. The API allows for user management (on-boarding, synchronization), integration with different HR tools and content systems, and data privacy policies. It is listed under the Messaging category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Messaging APIs.

Tenta provides an encrypted browser with built-in VPN with no setup or email required. Their NSnitch API allows users to find out which name servers are snitching on them. NSnitch provides a DNS server which records the IP address of requests made against it and then makes that IP available via JSON API. It also provides lookups for Tor Node membership, DNS blacklist status and Geo data. The API is listed under the Privacy category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Privacy APIs.

UpCall is a platform for making outbound, human calls. The technology allows for organizations to crowdsource over one thousand on-demand callers worldwide for sales, marketing and customer support calls. The UpCall REST API allows developers to integrate the functionality of UpCall with other applications. API methods include managing calls, managing numbers, and retrieving call data. The UpCall API is listed under the Telephony category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Telephony APIs.

ChromaWay is an open source platform for smart blockchain technology infrastructure. ChromaWallet Professional runs in server mode and has a built-in JSON-RPC API. With the API, developers can allow clients to verify data using Android or iOS applications. It helps take complex bitcoin banking transactions and simplifying them into code. The ChromaWay API is listed under the Blockchain category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Blockchain APIs.

RetinaLyze is a screening algorithm used to screen retinal/fundus images (posterior segment of the human eye) for the early signs of Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-related Macula Degeneration. The RetinaLyze API will return an easily understandable result to users, which developers can use in their own PACS, Patient-journal (EMR) or eye-screening software. This API is listed under the Healthcare category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Healthcare APIs.
