Daily API RoundUp: COVID-19, NASA, Stringee, Alert Logic, DreamApply

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Twenty-one APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Coronavirus, Blockchain, and Agriculture. Featured today are several more COVID-19 APIs, an API for student exchange admissions, and an API for accessing agribusiness data. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

The followings six APIs were added to the Coronavirus category on ProgrammableWeb.

COVID-19 Mauritius APITrack this API returns information associated with the Novel Coronavirus in the Republic of Mauritius. The API returns total cases, total deaths, recovered, and their daily counterparts. Data is sourced from the John Hopkins CSSE, and BeSafeMoris, the official news source provided by the Mauritian Government.

COVID-19/2019-nCoV Realtime Infection Data APITrack this API returns the latest virus data by day, for Chinese province, or by province, municipalities or countries outside China. Data source is Ding Xiang Yuan. Data includes location, number of confirmed patients, suspected infections, cured patients and deaths, also time of press release, news summary and more.

COVID-19 Japan Web APITrack this API retrieves coronavirus information of each prefecture in Japan. Data is updated every 2 hours.

Coronavirus.dev APITrack this API provides the latest number of cases, deaths, active cases, critical cases, and recovered patients. Developers can request data per country or for all countries.

COVID-19 Spain APITrack this API retrieves the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases, hospitalized cases, ICU cases, deaths, and the number of people who recovered from the COVID-19 disease.

CoronaTab is a free & open-source Platform for COVID19 data. It offers a dashboard, a REST API, a browser extension, and is localized into all languages. The CoronaTab APITrack this API provides localized COVID-19 data. All endpoints are cached for 1 Hour through Cloudflare and Origin CORS allows fetching the data to store it on a server. An alternative is to set up a reverse proxy.

Farm Market ID provides agribusiness data servies. Farm Market iD's database covers more than 310 million acres of crops. The Farm Market iD APITrack this API returns land details, logs, geospatial information, and bin data. It is listed in the Agriculture category.

Kontent. AI is a content-as-a-service solution for digital teams from Kentico. The Kentico Kontent Delivery APITrack this API serves published content from Kontent projects. Developers can use the API to deliver large amounts of content to a website or app. The content is cached on the CDN level, which makes it quickly available. The Delivery API provides content filtering options that retrieve only the parts of the content required. The Kentico Kontent Delivery API is listed under the Content Delivery Network category.

ProximaX enables enterprise-grade distributed and Decentralized technologies. ProximaX Sirius is a highly secure platform that combines Blockchain, storage, streaming, and database capabilities. Sirius comes with Supercontracts, multisig, multilayer-multisig, pull transactions, aggregated transactions, and cross-chain features. The Catapult APITrack this API enables access to account information, transactions, and multisig account information. It is filed under Blockchain.

Stringee provides tools for adding rich messaging features into applicaions. The Stringee APITrack this API enables developers to integrate voice call, SMS, and video call capabilities with one on one chat, group chat, text messages, media content (photo, audio, and video), and delivery and read receipts. This API is listed in the Messaging category.

DreamApply is an student exchange and admissions management software solution. Currently, DreamApply platform is hosting around 150 university systems from across 20 countries in Europe. The organization offers the Dream Agreement APITrack this API to retrieve agreements for student exchange software in JSON format, aiming to simplify the work of international relations coordinators. The API is listed under Education.

Alert Logic is a managed detection and response (MDR) provider. The Alert Logic APITrack this API enables developers to integrate threat detection and compliance with their applications. The API is used to access identity management, create user access keys, and to manage role resources. The Alert Logic API is listed under the Monitoring category.

NEAR is a shared public blockchain which allows developers to build secure decentralized applications. The NEAR APITrack this API is used to access blockchain nodes, send transactions, query database information, and query a network for blocks. The API features JSON- RPC 2.0 architecture. The NEAR API is listed under the Blockchain category.

Spawner provides data-driven financial insights. The Spawner APITrack this API enables developers to build Machine Learning functions into financial applications. Spawner uses JSON to deliver data, access NLP, Financial ML, and computer vision with 3 to 5 lines of code. It is listed in the Financial category.

A number of NASA APIs were recently added to the Astronomy category. They are as follows:

NASA JPL SSD/CNEOS API Service is the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's SSD (Solar System Dynamics) and CNEOS (Center for Near-Earth Object Studies) API (Application Program Interface) service. Several APIs are available.

NASA NHATS is the Near-Earth Object Human Space Flight Accessible Targets Study. The NASA SSD/CNEOS NHATS APITrack this API allows developers to request data from tables related to the study. The purpose of NHATS was to identify any known Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) - especially Near-Earth Asteroids (NEAs) - that might be accessible to future human space flight missions.

NASA SSD/CNEOS Mission Design APITrack this API allows developers to access the JPL/SSD small-body mission design suite. Query mode retrieves pre-computed mission options and low-thrust delta-V estimates. Map mode provides the same information as query mode, but it will also generate the complete dataset needed to plot "time of flight" vs "departure date" maps displaying different parameters.

NASA SSD/CNEOS Fireball Data APITrack this API allows developers to request records from the dataset on fireball and bolide events. A fireball is a very bright meteor, while a bolide is a fireball that explodes in a bright terminal Flash, often with visible fragmentation. Records retrieved by the API will include the fireball event's date, time, geographic location, and altitude and velocity at peak brightness.

NASA SSD/CNEOS SBDB APITrack this API allows developers to request machine-readable data for a given small body in JPL’s SSD/CNEOS Small-Body DataBase (SBDB). This database contains object identification and naming information, orbital data, and physical data for all known asteroids and comets in the solar system.

NASA SSD/CNEOS Scout Data APITrack this API provides access to results from the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) Scout system in near-realtime. The Scout system provides trajectory analyses and hazard assessments for objects on the Minor Planet Center's Near-Earth Object Confirmation Page (NEOCP). These objects are unconfirmed, and their designations are unofficial.

NASA SSD/CNEOS Sentry APITrack this API gives developers access to results from the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) Sentry system. The Sentry system provides highly automated collision monitoring. It continually scans the most current asteroid catalog for objects that could impact with Earth within the next 100 years. The API can return details, summary data, or VI data for a given Sentry object.

NASA SSD/CNEOS SBDB Close-Approach Data APITrack this API allows developers to access current close-approach data for all of the asteroids and comets in JPL's SBDB (Small-Body DataBase). Results can be filtered by date, distance, H-value, V-infinity, V-relative, orbit-class, and more.
