Daily API RoundUp: CronAlarm, The Things Network, TINT, ParallelDots

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Nine APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Internet of Things, Messaging, and Social Media. Featured today are APIs from CronAlarm, for integrating with the cron jobs Platform, and from The Things Network, a crowdsourced IoT networking platform. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

CronAlarm is a cron jobs platform that supports the monitoring, recording, and organization of scheduled tasks. Use the CronAlarm API to integrate the CronAlarm jobs and tasks scheduling functionality into applications. The RESTful API provides endpoints for simple and advanced consumption, and is listed in our directory under the DevOps category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of DevOps APIs.

The Vehicle Query Free DVLA API allows developers to lookup a vehicle registered in the United Kingdom using the vehicle registration mark (VRM), also known as the "number plate". Queries return the vehicle's tax status, MOT status, and MOT history. All queries are against the DVLA and DVSA (formerly VOSA) databases, which contain over 80 million records. This API is free to use with no registration required. This API is listed under the Auto category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Auto APIs.

ParallelDots is a provider of Artificial Intelligence APIs. The ParallelDots Custom Classifier API classifies submitted text into different predetermined categories. The API is powered by trained Machine Learning algorithms which defines relationships on large noisy datasets. The API is listed under the Classification category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Classification APIs.

The Things Network aims to build a global open crowdsourced network for the Internet of Things. The Things Network API can be used to exchange information with devices on The Things Network. MQTT is the protocol used for lightweight publish/subscribe messaging capabilities. The API is listed under the Internet of Things category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of IoT APIs.

EBU.io (European Broadcasting Union) provides access to a database of audio and video test data and tools via EBUIO QC API. It is provided by the EBU Tech initiative through their Digital Collaboration Hub. As an open source platform under Creative Commons Attribution license, it allows collaboration and standardization on test structure for content broadcast over streaming video, hybrid radio, and other media. The API is listed under the Open Data category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Open Data APIs.

TINT is a social media aggregation and marketing platform. The TINT platform lets users share activity from their social media accounts to a webpage, giving visitors to the site a look at the social media conversations related to the site. The TINT API allows access to data collected by the TINT cloud-based social media aggregator. TINT customers can use the API to collect data, to access metrics, and to access analytics collected from user's social media accounts. The TINT API is listed under the Social category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Social APIs.

The Criexe Social Networks API is a metaservice that allows developers to get the number of followers and, when available, "likes" for a page or profile on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google Plus, or Instagram. Developers can get the statistics for a single page or for multiple pages in a single call. When multiple pages are requested, the total number of followers for all pages is provided. This allows users to determine the total number of followers for a single entity across multiple social networks. The API is also listed under the Social category.

TrackingMore provides a way for multiple parcel tracking, including track buttons, access to 410 couriers, tracking APIs, e-commerce APPs and more. The TrackingMore Webhooks API allows users to get notifications when tracking is updated. TrackingMore will make a POST request to the Callback URL that is defined in the webhook page. The TrackingMore API integrates package tracking and notifications into shipping applications available with JSON architecture. This API is listed under the Shipping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Shipping APIs.

Onehop is a provider of SMS-Aggregators and other messaging solutions. The Onehop SMS API provides access to a variety of messaging functionalities such as account management, business analytics, campaigns, routing configuration, and SMS history & delivery reports. It is a RESTful API that conveys requests and responses in JSON format. The API is listed under the Messaging category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Messaging APIs.
