Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seven APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Recognition, Products, Calendars, and more. Here, we summarize the new additions and how they can assist developers.
Ditto Labs scans social media for images, faces, and mentions of brands. Brands can use Ditto to engage with users who post photos of their brands or products. Two APIs are available for developers to integrate Ditto services. The Ditto Social Stream API provides metadata about public photos that Ditto continuously mines from Twitter and Tumblr. Users choose a basket of brands and the API returns metadata about the photos in which those brands appear. Fees for the Social Stream API are based on the number of brands. The Ditto Photo Reader API enables users to evaluate a photo stream to Ditto's matching engine. The will determine if any brand in Ditto's catalog appears in those photos. The Ditto Labs APIs are listed under the Recognition category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Recognition APIs.
Plytix provides a collection of product images, as well as analytics about products for advertising. Plytix Resellers REST API allows developers to manage different sites, manage different products, and manage users. Plytix also has a REST API (mentioned in a previous API RoundUp). We've categorized both Plytix APIs under the Products category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Products APIs.
ReminderDrop is a natural language processing reminder and event scheduling API. Developers can make applicationss and web sites more user friendly by allowing users to schedule events and reminders using naturally spoken language. We've categorized the RemdinderDrop API under the Calendars category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Calendars APIs.
Pure Storage provides flash storage for OpenStack clouds in the form of FlashArray//m devices. These use 80% less power than disk-based storage. Pure Storage FlashArray API allows developers to interact with FlashArray data storage devices programmatically. This API is filed under the Storage category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Storage APIs.
Developers can integrate monitoring-as-a-service into apps with Monasca API. It includes methods for storing and querying metrics and historical data. Provided by Openstack.org, Monasca can process hundreds of thousands of metrics per second with data retention periods of greater than a year. We've categorized the Mosasca API under the Monitoring category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Monitoring APIs.
The Grocery Checklist API is a RESTful API that provides a backend service for mobile applications to help users with grocery shopping. This API provides useful tools in its service such as creating checklist items, product search, organizing categories, and more. This API is listed in the Grocery category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Grocery APIs.
