Daily API RoundUp: Firebase, PagerDuty, ReadGeek, API-NBA, KeyedIn

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Thirteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Books, Sports and Billing. Highlights include the Firebase Management API released this week, and the Caselaw Access Project API which provides free access to millions of law books. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

APIs

Caselaw Access Project offers open access to law cases scanned from the Harvard Law Library. The Caselaw Access Project API (CAPAPI) serves all official US court cases published in books from 1658 to 2018. This includes over six million cases scanned from the Harvard Law Library shelves. Developers can use the API to access Caselaw programmatically, to run analysis, or build tools for other users. CAPAPI also includes an in-browser API viewer. This project is operated by the President and Fellows of Harvard College, and is filed under the Law category.

PagerDuty provides digital operations, on-call and incident response services. The PagerDuty Events API detects system problems and produces tickets to fix issues. Developers can add phone, SMS, email, and mobile push notifications to monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and custom software with this API, which is listed in the Monitoring category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Monitoring APIs.

Readgeek is a social network for readers and an online book recommendations engine. Readgeek API is a RESTful platform used to include personal book recommendations in webservices. HS Code is an international standard that classifies traded products. This API is listed under the Shipping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Shipping APIs.

API-NBA offers API access to NBA data such as seasons, leagues, teams, players, game details, and game statistics. Responses are JSON formatted. The API-NBA API is listed under the Sports category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Sports APIs.

Google's Firebase platform provides tools to develop applications for monetizing business. The Firebase Summit was earlier this week, where a number of announcements were made, including the release of the Firebase Management API. The Google Firebase Management API allows developers to create and manage Firebase projects within third party workflows and applications. API methods are available to manage projects and resources. This API is listed in the Application Development category.

The Firebase Management API is mentioned in the top 5 highlights from Firebase Summit 2018 Video: YouTube/Google Developers

Fakturia offers a way to manage contracts and automate them with recurring billing. The Fakturia REST API can be used to access resources such as customer information, contract activities, and subscriptions. The Billing API is listed under the Billing category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Billing APIs.

Vidyard provides online video hosting services for businesses. The Vidyard Dashboard API provides programmatic access to create a video, create a tag for a video, and create a player. Both Vidyard APIs are listed under the Video category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Video APIs.

Dilli Labs provides SaaS and web hosting solutions. Dilli Email Validation API (DEVA) is a simple REST API for verifying email addresses.
