Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thirteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Messaging, Payments, and Shipping. Highlights include an unofficial Google News API and an API for enabling applications to accept Bitcoin payments. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
Fullscreen Direct is a fan engagement platform for musicians and artists that includes tools for marketing, commerce, fan clubs and more. The Fullscreen Direct API can be used to programmatically access and integrate with the platform. The API returns JSON data associated to music events, including users, fan clubs, audio, photos, stores and commerce, video, and comments. It is filed under the Engagement category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Engagement APIs.
Unofficial Google News API can be used to retrueve news articles from a given set of keywords. The API was created as a reliable alternative in response to the closure of the Google News API. The API provides users with up to 20 items per research. Each article contains a title, a thumbnail, the website name, the item link, the author and the date. It is listed under the News Services category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of News Services APIs.
Modulr is a business payments platform based in London. The Modulr API provides methods for managing payments, rules, accounts, and direct debits. Modulr provies a sandbox to produce a financial integration environment before application release. The API is listed under the Payments category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Payments APIs.
VSee provides a HIPAA compliant telemedicine solution. The VSee User Management API returns JSON data to manage users. Developers can create a user, update a user, delete, and list a user. And the VSee URI API can be used to create URIs that launch and configure a VSee client. It could be useful to provide a button on a website to call a provider. Both APIs are listed in the Medicine category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Medicine APIs.
Envia provides solutions for automating shipping processes. Developers can use the Envia API to connect systems with multiple carriers. The API enables applications to retrieve rates, create shipping labels, request pickups, track packages and more. Integrated carriers include DHL, Fedex, UPS, Correos, Envialia, Servientrega and more. The API is totally free and users can choose to ship products through an Envia account (Pay Envia for each shipment) or use a personal account with the carrier (Pay directly to the carrier). We've listed the Envia API in the Shipping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Shipping APIs.
WorldTime API provides local-time for a given timezone as either JSON or plain-text. Developers can also use this API to determine whether a time zone is currently in Daylight Savings Time (DST), when DST starts and ends, and the UTC offset. The API is listed under the Time category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Time APIs.
Sendlane provides intelligent, behavioral email marketing services. The Sendlane API is available to programmatically interact with the platform. API methods include functions for user details, subscribers, and lists. The Sendlane API is listed under the Email category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Email APIs.
ApusPayments provides cryptocurrency payment services. The ApusPayments API allows developers to add cryptocurrency transactions within applications. This platform can be integrated with POS systems, EFT systems, and mobile applications. Payments can be received in Bitcoins. The API supports checkouts and cryptocurrency recharges. The API is listed under the Cryptocurrency category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Cryptocurrency APIs.
SMSGlobal provides worldwide SMS services. The SMSGlobal REST API returns JSON and XML data related to messaging, email, virtual numbers, and bulk messaging. The SMSGlobal MMS API enables applications to access the MM7 interface for sending MMS messages. A SOAP API is also available. All three APIs are listed in our Messaging category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Messaging APIs.
Exotel is a cloud telephony company based in Asia. An "Exophone" is a virtual phone number on the cloud that allows users to take several calls at the same time. The Exotel Heartbeat API monitors the health of an Exophone in real time. The API sends notifications about the health of an Exophone with consideration about external factors, such as fibre cuts or network congestion. This information is useful to understand if fallback options are needed. This is a webhooks API, and is listed in our Telephony category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Telephony APIs.
