Daily API RoundUp: Genomelink, Milez, Wonde, Smappee

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Twelve APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Search, Education, Economics, and Energy. Highlights include the QuickChart API which provides a simple way to define and create data charts, the Genomelink API for adding DNA profiled genetic attributes to applications, and the Milez API for frequent flyer miles data. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

QuickChart API generates chart and graph images to embed in email, SMS, and reports. Developers can define charts by URL, JSON and JavaScript objects, and the Chart.js Library. Line, bar, radar, donut, pie, polar areas, bubbles, and scatter chart types represent data visualizations. This service can be used as a replacement for the Google Image Charts API, which was deprecated in March, 2019. The QuickChart API is listed under the Charts category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Charts APIs.

Unofficial Booking.com API returns rooms, price, facilities, policies, and hotel data as on the Booking.com website. Developers can sign up for an API Key to make calls that will return JSON format in response. It is filed the Hotels category.

Fun Generators is an online provider of random generators for everything from names to numbers to trivia. The Fun Generators Random Facts API allows developers to retrieve random facts on a variety of topics and integrate the fact generator into their websites or applications. API use requires a paid monthly subscription. The API is listed under the Reference category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Reference APIs.

Milez is a global frequent flyer miles calculator. The Milez API is available by request to integrate frequent flyer miles, rates by seating class, airports, and destinations. Data is available in English, French, German, and Spanish. Interested developers can contact Milez to implement air travel into applications. The Milez API is listed under the Air Travel category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Air Travel APIs.

Braintree is a global commerce tools and payment Platform. The Braintree GraphQL API provides a way to charge payment methods, reverse and refund transactions, vault payment methods, look up transactions and more. This API is currently in Beta and supports basic server-side transaction processing. It is listed in the Payments category.

Genomelink is a service for deciphering raw DNA. The Genomelink API allows developers to add personalized DNA analysis capabilities to applications. The API returns JSON responses containing genomics information by specifying parameters such as population and phenotype. With the API, developers can create custom applications based on a user's genetic attributes. Genomelink features HIPAA-grade security, no secondary data usage, and user information is completely deletable. The Genomelink API is listed under the Genetics category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Genetics APIs.
