Daily API RoundUp: Google Cloud Speech, Twilio, Open Humans, ButterCMS, Smooch

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Nineteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Recognition, Telephony, and Payments. Highlighted today is the Google Cloud Speech API which can return text results from speech and recognize languages, among other functions. Here's a look at what's new.

APIs

The Google Cloud Speech API is a speech recognition system that applies powerful neural network models. The Speech API supports 80 languages and can transcribe text, and enable voice commands. Currently, this REST based Speech API is in beta, and is free to try. The Google Cloud Speech API is listed under the Recognition category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Recognition APIs.
