Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at email@example.com.
Seventeen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Payments, Banking and Internet Of Things. Highlights today include the MuHu API for real time vehicle fleet data and the Bark API for keeping children safe while they use the internet. Here's a look at the new additions.
MuHu is a livestreaming video recording service for commercial drivers. It helps identify threats on the road and alert drivers in real time. Because it saves video to the cloud, it can provide a record of events should an accident occur. The MuHu API allows developers to get information on vehicles, fleets, and their associated organizations. It can also be used to access live or recorded footage from a selected vehicle as well as GPS data. The API supports both JSON and XML data formats. The MuHu API is listed under the Video category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Video APIs.
Shout Link allows sharing URLs with other people in a non-electronic way. The Shout Link REST API helps generate URLs. The main API methods include generating a short link and retrieving URLs. The Shout Link API is listed under the URL Shortener category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of URL Shortener APIs.
Bark is an internet safety platform that allows parents and schools to help keep their children safe online. The Bark REST API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Bark with other applications. The main API method is returning safety messages from the Bark platform. The Bark API is listed under the Safety category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Safety APIs.
lknSuite is a social media monitoring and analytics platform. The service allows users to publish and schedule content to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Wordpress, and also to Instagram without having to use the mobile application. The lknuite.com Publisher API provides a way for developers to use lknsuite publishing services outside of lknsuite.com. It allows you to view social accounts that you have authorized on lknsuite.com and post/schedule posts to your social accounts. The lknSuite URL Shortener API lets developers create with lkn.li's link shrinking capabilities. Both APIs are listed under the Social category.
The BackgroundCheck REST API is a source of background screening records, including criminal records, addresses, court documents, and more. The API can be accessed and integrated with other applications and is listed under the Crime category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Crime APIs.
ForwardLane is a company that helps financial advisors with Artificial Intelligence tools. The ForwardLane API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of ForwardLane with other applications. API and documentation access comes with account service. The API is listed under the Artificial Intelligence category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Artificial Intelligence APIs.
The Country API returns basic information on all of the countries in the world. Available information includes the country's name, native name, native language, numeric code, alpha 2 code, alpha 3 code, region, sub-region, latitude, longitude, area, currency name, currency code, currency symbol, and flag. This API is open-source and doesn't require any form of authentication. The Country API is listed under the Countries category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Countries APIs.
The Google Payment Request API allows merchants to request and accept payments over a single API call with minimal integration. This API is an open, cross-browser standard for accepting credit cards electronically. It allows the web page to exchange information with the browser before approving or denying a payment request, while the user is providing input. The Payment Request API is new, still subject to developmental changes, and under development in the W3C Web Payments Working Group. The API is listed under the Payments category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Payments APIs.
Losant is an Internet Of Things developer platform. The Losant REST API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Losant with other applications. Example API methods include managing devices, managing actions, and managing users. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of IoT APIs.
Beyonic is a mobile money payment, billing, and collection platform. The Beyonic REST API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of Beyonic with other applications. API methods are available for receiving money, sending money, and managing billing. This API is listed under the Payments category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Payments APIs.
