Daily API RoundUp: Google Proximity Beacon, Check That Bike!, Ooyala

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

We've added 6 APIs to the ProgrammableWeb directory today in Cycling, Bluetooth and Infrastructure-as-a-Service categories, among others. Here's a summary of what is new.

APIs

Google Eddystone, a set of location-based technology products for building contextually relevant location applications was recently launched. Eddystone includes the Google Proximity Beacon API which allows developers to manage data associated with their BLE beacons using a REST interface.

We've primarily categorized the API under the Bluetooth category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Bluetooth APIs.

Check That Bike! is a crowdsourced bike recovery project. Developers in the UK can integrate  Check That Bike UK API into apps to enable users to enter a bike frame number to find out if that used bike had an unusual past. To check for stolen bikes in the United States, Check That Bike US API is also available.

We've categorized these APIs under the Cycling category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Cycling APIs.

Ooyala is a cloud-based digital video platform. Ooyala Player REST API allows users to customize HTML5 and flash players, to improve consurmer video experience and engage with marketing campaigns. API methods include player controls and events information. We've listed the Ooyala Player API under the Video category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of ccc APIs.

Scaleway is a provider of ARM BareMetal SSD cloud servers. The Scaleway API allows developers to manage servers and resources in a programmatic way using conventional HTTP requests. All features found in the web control panel are also available through the API. The Scaleway API is listed under the Infrastructure-as-a-Service category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Infrastructure-as-a-Service APIs.

Tuxx is a provider of APIs based in The Netherlands. The Tuxx CV Maker API allows developers to integrate Tuxx CV builder service with their applications, which enables their users to create CVs directly in apps. This API gives a CV document in docx, pdf or jpg as output. As input it uses a set of about 30 fields. The Tuxx CV Maker API is categorized under Documents category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Documents APIs.
