Daily API RoundUp: Hooks:Data, Solunar, Slapbot, Lingotek, Sequence

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Eighteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Cryptocurrency, Mapping, and Localization. Also new to the directory is an API to run reports from Google regarding website abusive experiences and the Mapline API for creating maps from data on spreadsheets.

Wirefree Thought GeoDB Get-City-Distance API returns the straight-line distance between any two cities in either JSON or JSONP format. Responses may be given in either miles or kilometers. In the future, this API will support additional distance criteria. It is listed under the Location category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Location APIs.

Mapline provides "the easiest mapping software on the planet." The Mapline API allows users to build maps and upload datasets to be used with an organization's internal systems. API methods are available for managing users, Authentication, managing datasets, creating records, creating, updating and deleting maps, and more. The Mapline API is listed under the Mapping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Mapping APIs.

Solunar API provides developers with programmatic access to solunar table data for a specified location. This API is designed to allow fisherman and hunters to determine the best days and times to fish or hunt based on the hypothesis that fish and animals vary their activity and feeding patterns based on solar and lunar cycles. The Solunar API is listed under the Astronomy category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Astronomy APIs.

Google Abusive Experience Report API allows users to view Abusive Experience Report data, and get a list of sites that have a significant number of abusive experiences. An abusive experience is anything designed to mislead website visitors, such as automatic redirects, fake error messages, simulated dialog boxes. or ads designed to trick readers. The Gpogle Abusive Experience Report API is listed under the Web Site Management category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Web Site Management APIs.
