Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. Twenty APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Email, Real Estate, and Natural Language Processing. Highlights include APIs for IP location services and an API for determining carbon offsets. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
Hymnary provides a comprehensive index of hymns and hymnals. The Hymnary API delieveries hymn data as JSON objects. Retrieve title, date, place of origin, language, and Scripture reference for up to 100 hymns per API call. The Hymnary API is listed under the Religion category. SafetyLocker EDI Tokenizer API is a REST service that is designed to be used in EAI platforms to address privacy concerns over personal ID information that is transferred through electronic messages. The SafetyLocker EDI Tokenizer API allows users to tokenize electronic documents or a single given element, and enables clients with access to audit logs and tokens. It is listed in our Security category.
IPinfo.io offers services used to pinpoint users' locations, customize their experiences, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance. Three IPinfo APIs were added to our Location category. IPinfo.io ASN API returns the specified Autonomous System Number's registered name, assigned prefixes, related domain, and more. TIPinfo.io IP Address Ranges API returns the total number of ranges, and an array with each of them. IPinfo.io Hosted Domains API returns the top 25 domains that are hosted on an IP.
SSN / EIN Formatter and Validator API validates and formats Social Security Numbers and Employer Identification Numbers SSN/EIN. Usage is free with attribution. The API filed in the Identity category.
GetTheData organizes UK open data by location and signposts the source. GetTheData bng2latlong API enables developers to convert an OSGB36 easting and northing (British National Grid) to WGS84 latitude and longitude. This API is also listed under the Location category.
Cloverly is an API for consuming carbon offsets. Additionally, it does have some endpoints for calculating carbon impact. This is the first API which allows consumption of carbon offsets. Until now, APIs enabled calculations, but not purchases. Cloverly works with ecommerce platforms including Shopify and Magento. The Cloverly API is listed under the Sustainability category. PayIBAN offers a way to implement direct debit e-mandates in applications. PayIBAN API is a REST interface that enables mandate, status, amendment, and cancellation requests. SiteWhere is an application development platform designed to build and deploy IoT systems. The SiteWhere API provides access to resources, batch operations, customers, devices, and schedules. Language Identification API provides data detection for textual content. The API supports over 150 languages, and returns a maximum of 3 detected languages. Additionally, this API returns a numeric confidence value between 0 and 1. JSON is the preferred response format. Nicesi is an API Platform that supports RESTful and Custom APIs. Nicesi Email API provides a way to check if an email comes from 15000+ disposable email providers. This REST API returns data in JSON format, and is filed in the Email category.
Home Junction provides data services for researching and building residential real estate tools. The Home Junction Slipstream Web Services API enables applications to provide real estate data including information on schools, MLS listings, area demographics, public records, home values, market statistics, area boundaries, geocodes and more. Ocular Tissue Database is a repository of genetic eye data from the The Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at The University of Iowa. The Ocular Tissue Database API provides programmatic access to the database for retrieving expression data regarding genes, gene symbols, descriptions, and accessions. MasterCom is a system for dispute management from Mastercard. The MasterCom API offers Mastercard customers the ability to create and manage dispute claims in MasterCom. All activities for any given dispute can be tracked within a single claim using MasterCom, including retrieval request and fulfillment, first chargeback, second presentment, arbitration chargeback, case filing, and fee collection requests. Metals-API offers real-time prices and quotes for metals. The Metals-API returns prices for Gold, Silver, Palladium, Platinum and other base metals. In addition to real-time precious metals prices, the service also offers daily London Fixing prices, gold coin prices, and delayed NYMEX and COMEX Future precious metal prices as well as historical precious metal prices, charts and metal news. Facebook Account Kit Graph API allows you to register and log into your application using a phone number or email address as passwordless credentials.
