Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at email@example.com.
We’ve added ten APIs to the ProgrammableWeb directory today in Tools, Sentiment, Chat, and Mapping categories, among others. Also added were three libraries for Spectra Logic.
AddThis provides content sharing services and tools for user engagement. The AddThis Smart Layers API allows developers to configure and customize the “Smart Layers” displayed on their webpages. Smart Layers are features that float over user’s webpages and provide sharing, following, and content recommendation functions. With the API, developers can enable or disable layers, customize text labels, specify a theme, and choose what services appear. We’ve primarily categorized the AddThis Smart Layers API under the Tools category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Tools APIs.
Hedvig is a technology storage and cloud service for businesses. They provide a single, unified storage platform that provides block, file, and object storage that deploys in the cloud. The Hedvig REST API allows developers to access the functionality of Hedvig for integration with other applications and services. Public documentation is not available; API access comes with account service. We’ve primarily categorized the Hedvig API under the Storage category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Storage APIs.
BoldChat by LogMeIn provides companies with live, human, customer service chat and messaging functions. The BoldChat REST API lets developers add BoldChat functionalities and chat event data to other systems, such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Ticketing integration software. In addition, developers can export data into external systems for analysis and reporting.

The VineOS Product Catalog Import API is categorized under the eCommerce category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of eCommerce APIs.
The VineOS Currency Conversion API converts over 165 currencies. Currency rates are updated every hour, and the API is free and open to the public to use. We’ve primarily categorized the VineOS Currency Conversion API under the Currency category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Currency APIs.
These three recently added libraries from Spectra Logic interface with the Spectra Logic DS3 API, which leverages Amazon S3 operations to facilitate the transport of data objects to and from tape for archival storage.
Use the official Spectra Logic DS3 C SDK to access their deep storage and data transfer tools. This SDK has the following dependencies: libxml2, libcurl, and libglib-2.0.
The official Spectra Logic DS3 .NET SDK supports the DS3 operations for the transfer of data to tape for archival storage.
And finally, Spectra Logic DS3 Java SDK can be directly included into a Maven or Gradle build for installation. See the SDK documentation for setup instructions and code samples.
