Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy: updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code samples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are 8 APIs as well as a new client plus source code samples added to the ProgrammableWeb directory over the weekend. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Neighborhood.io. is a service for real estate professionals in Canada that provides demographic information based on geocoordinates. The Neighborhood RESTful API allows developers to tap into data such as age, race, labor force, household income, average household size, home value, home owner net worth, and more for neighborhoods in Canada. The data can be used to create charts and other visualizations. API access is available in multiple fee plans. We’ve primarily categorized the Neighborhood.io API under the Demographics category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Demographics APIs.
Microsoft OneDrive is a subscription cloud storage service. The OneDrive REST API allows developers to integrate OneDrive into their apps to store and manage user data. Features include syncing across multiple devices on all major platforms, uploads, customizable thumbnails, and more.
OnPage is a secure prioritized messaging system for smartphones that is designed to take the place of a traditional pager. Each message comes with an alert-until-read to ensure no messages get lost. The OnPage SOAP API allows developers to access the OnPage messaging service in order to send messages and retrieve tracking information for messages. We’ve primarily categorized the OnPage API under the Messaging category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Messaging APIs.
The Traackr API provides methods that help users discover their influencers, manage influencer relationships, and measure influencers’ impact on their business. The API is part of Traackr’s Influencer Management Platform, which helps marketers develop and manage relationships with all of the people who affect their businesses and their customers’ decision-making from one place.
R&R Music is a company that provides a music recommendation engine, music discovery, and online radio services. Their products include Tunehog, Cadenza, ClearPlayer, and Sounds Like Me. The R&R Music REST API provides access to information on millions of songs with multiple data points. Developers can add music discovery features based on mood, genre, and sound parameters to applications. We’ve primarily categorized the R&R Music API under the Music category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Music APIs.
Also recently added was the PredictionIO Node.js SDK by Asaf Yishai. This Node.js SDK is for use with the PredictionIO recommendation engine. PredictionIO is an open source server that provides data scientists and developers a machine-learning environment for production.
A number of source code samples for the Amazon Product Advertising API have been added as well. These include C# SOAP Source Code, which demonstrates how to use C# to send a signed SOAP request, as well as Amazon Product Advertising "Introduction to AWS for C# Developers" source code.
