Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. TravelTime is a travel and mapping platform. The TravelTime Routes API returns routing information between a start point and destinations in JSON format. Transitland provides a datastore of aggregated data from authoritative transit sources for buses, trains, streetcars, ferries, and cable cars. The Transitland Datastore API powers routing applications, transit visualizations and more, and is used for both querying and editing aggregated transit data globally. United States Geological Survey (USGS) provides tools to discover information about the Earth and its processes, and provides science about hazards, water, energy, minerals, and other natural resources. The USGS Earthquake Catalog API allows custom searches for earthquake information using a variety of parameters. This service is an implementation of the FDSN Event Web Service Specification. Nabto is a full communication infrastructure that allows encrypted communications, and features a P2P relay system. The Nabto Cloud API allows developers to control one or more domains on the Nabto IoT platform. The API uses Tokens for authentication. Nabto enables remote control of Internet of Things devices directly, and securely. The API is listed under the Internet of Things category.
IEX Group is the operator of Investors Exchange (IEX), a stock exchange for U.S. equities. The IEX Trading API returns stocks and financial data in JSONP format. Access is open and authentication is not required. With the API, developers can implement trading status, auctions, official prices, effective spreads, and volume by venues. Ethfinex is a cryptocurrency trading platform. The Ethfinex API uses REST architecture to return Ethereum token trading data. CAPTCHAs.IO is an automated captcha recognition services that supports more than 30,000 image captchas and reCAPTCHA v2 and v3, including invisible reCAPTCHA. Patient Knows Best is a cross platform healthcare patient portal service. AttachmentScanner is scalable virus and malware protection API. The AttachmentScanner API provides a REST interface capable of scanning files for viruses, and malware. AttachmentScanner uses HTTPS encryption for transfers, and AES encryption for files, and can scan numerous files in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or any other provider. Fuel Rats offer fuel to stranded ships in the Elite Dangerous space-flight simulation game. The Fuel Rats API returns lists of rescues, updates rescues, and manages rat assignments. Additionally, this API supports user lists, and searches. This data is available as JSON objects and is listed under the Games category.
Amazon Alexa Music Skill API has been generally available in the Alexa Skills Kit since November, 2018. The API enables music service providers such as Spotify or Pandora to add music services to Alexa-powered devices. The Alexa Music Skill API also enables devices to understand a user's voice commands to play music. For example, a user could say, "Alexa, play 'I Can See For Miles' by The Who" to hear that particular song. This API is listed in the Music category. Cardknox is a developer-friendly payment system. The Cardknox API integrates payments into online, mobile, and in-store applications. It uses the same URL for sandbox and live accounts and supports Credit Card, Check (ACH), EBT, Gift Card and Fraud Protection transactions. The Cardknox API is listed under the Payments category.
