Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at email@example.com.
Fourteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Gambling, Weather, Mapping, and Agriculture. Featured today are APIs for automating filling and extraction in PDFs, and an API for interviewing job candidates via Skype. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
PSMA provides location and geospatial information about Australia from Australia's state, territory and federal government data sources. The RESTful PSMA Buildings API provides data about 8.8 million+ Australian buildings and includes 2D and 3D building footprints. Developers can access data including addresses, buildings, roof materials, elevation, average roof height and more. This API is listed under the Mapping category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Mapping APIs.
airSpring Software provides automated digital document services to enhance user experience. The airSpring Software Extract PDF Data API extracts data from prefilled PDF and returns the data in a JSON format. The airSpring Software PDF Fill API can be used to fill or extract data from a PDF form. Developers can supply the URL to any fillable PDF, and fill it with data. The API supports ECM software, tax forms, and more. The airSpring Software APIs are listed under the Documents category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Documents APIs.
The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Quick Stats service is an on-line database containing official published aggregate estimates related to U.S. agricultural production. The USDA NASS Quick Stats API provides direct access to the statistical information in the Quick Stats database. NASS develops these estimates from data collected through sample surveys conducted each year and the Census of Agriculture conducted every five years providing state- and county-level data. The NASS Quick Stats API is listed under the Agriculture category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Agriculture APIs.
The Skype Interviews API can be used to enable Skype Interviews as part of a company's recruiting application. The API includes methods for creating, customizing, and scheduling interviews programmatically. API users are given the option to send participants email confirmation about their interview as well as request feedback from the interviewer over email after the interview. The Skype Interviews API is listed under the WebRTC category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of WebRTC APIs.
The VURL API can be integrated with applications to automate URL shortener capabilities. URLs sent to VURL.com must be encoded. The VURL API is listed under the URL Shortener category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of URL Shortener APIs.
Betfair provides an online betting exchange and other gambling services. The Betfair Betting API is one of several Betfair APIs, and allows developers to retrieve navigation data, odds, and volumes programmatically. It also allows users to place, cancel, replace, and update bet orders. Special instructions are provided for users who have registered accounts on the Italian or Spanish exchanges. This API is listed in the Gambling category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Gambling APIs.
The oneheap platform supports the organization and tracking of tasks, ideas, notes, and dates. The oneheap API aids the deployment of the oneheap webservice concept in applications. Developers who integrat the API can set file permissions, manage tasks, manage appointments, comments, users, and more. The oneheap API is listed under the Tasks category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Tasks APIs.
Wagapi is a cloud storage platform. The Wagapi API returns data for storage, classification, access, and sharing purposes. Developers can use the API to manage accounts, upload, manage, delete docs, find files, and more. The API is listed under the File Sharing category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of File Sharing APIs.
OpenWeatherMap provides open weather data, satellite imagery, IoT, and other environmental data for developers. We've added four more APIs to our list of OpenWeatherMap APIs to our Weather category.
OpenWeatherMap Accumulated Weather Data API rovides developers with historical accumulated weather data for more than 200,000 cities around the world.
OpenWeatherMap Ultraviolet Index API (Beta) provides developers with current, forecast, and historical UV data for more than 200,000 cities around the world. Data measurements are only taken at 12pm.
OpenWeatherMap 5 Day Weather Forecast API as well as the OpenWeatherMap 16 Day Weather Forecast API allow developers to get the 16-day forecast for a given location or city. Developers looking for more precision can request data for a central district of a city or town using its geographic coordinates, ID, or name.
