Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at email@example.com.
Nine APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories eCommerce, Location, and PDF. Featured today is an API for processing webpages into PDF documents automatically, and APIs for the OrgHunter philanthropic enabled business Platform. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
Paperplane allows the conversion of web pages into PDF documents. The Paperplane API is used to retrieve JSON formatted information related to conversion jobs. Processed PDFs are rendered using Google Chrome. Multiple documents can be converted in parallel, and are uploaded to Paperplane's cloud storage automatically. This API is listed under the PDF category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of PDF APIs.
OrgHunter is a platform for charity donations. We've added three OrgHunter APIs which return data about 2.2 million charity organizations in the United States to our Charity category. OrgHunter Charity Premium API returns financial information, financial charts, graphs, and maps. OrgHunter Charity Financial API returns detailed financial information from the charity's latest form 990. The OrgHunter Charity Geolocation API returns JSON data with mapping information on the charity including its current status with the IRS. Developers can integrate a Google maps widget within the application or website.
eBay Commerce Catalog API allows users to search the eBay catalog for products and assist sellers in finding products in the eBay catalog that correspond to items that sellers want to offer. Enable apps to retrieve a product record by its eBay product identifier, to submit a catalog change request to modify an existing product or create a new product, and more with the API. It is currently in beta with updates and new features to be added.
Also from eBay, the Marketplace Insights API enables users to search for sold items on eBay by keyword, GTIN, category, and more. It searches for sold eBay items by various URI query parameters and retrieves the sales history for items sold in the previous 90 days. Both eBay APIs are listed under the eCommerce category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of eCommerce APIs.
Spot Intelligence is a platform for extracting key data from documents. The Spot Intelligence API is used for automating document processing, easing the process of digitizing invoices or other business documents. This platform supports Word documents, PDFs, images, and XML files. The API can return data in XML, CSV or JSON. Detailed Documentation is available to approved partners. The API is listed under the Natural Language Processing category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Natural Language Processing APIs.
FutureMargin provides a machine-learning powered sales forecasting tool for eCommerce inventory planning. The FutureMargin Price Optimization API uses historical store data and Machine Learning to automatically provide price recommendations for any SKU daily. Interested developers can email the provider for access and documentation. The API is listed under the eCommerce category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of eCommerce APIs.
Bing Maps Location Recognition API returns a list of entities ranked by their proximity to a given geolocation. The URL response contains three components: local business entities near that location (e.g. restaurants, hotels, office buildings, transit stations, etc.), natural points of interest near that location (e.g. beaches, valleys, etc.), and a reverse geocoded address of that location. This API is listed under the Location category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Location APIs.
