Daily API RoundUp: Smartcar, Chestnote, Vamp, Back4App, Threadeo

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. Nineteen APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including DevOps, Verification, and Mail. Highlights include an API that returns data about Board Games, an API for building connected car applications, and an API for building contextual messages . Here's a rundown of the latest additions.

APIs

Smartcar enables developers to locate, unlock, and read mileage data from cars using an API. The Smartcar API allows mobile and web apps send HTTP requests to vehicles without the need for aftermarket hardware. API methods are available to manage basic vehicle info, user, location, odometer, permissions, security, disconnect, and VIN. The API currently supports 13 car brands across the United States including Buick, BMW, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Audi, Tesla, Lexus and Volkswagen. The Smartcar API is listed under the Auto category. Board Game Atlas is a directory and marketplace of board games. The Board Game Atlas API returns JSON data to search for board games. API resources include game details such as ages, number of players, ages, prices, images, game videos, reddit comments about games, external reviews and more. The API is listed in our Games category. Threadeo provides video and audio spoken word search services. The Threadeo API allows developers to access the Threadeo platform for video and audio transcription, translation, and search. This API provides methods for uploading video and audio recordings for processing, retrieving the processing status of the recording, and retrieving the resulting transcript with highlighted entities. Transcripts can be retrieved in JSON, PDF, DOCX, SRT, and VTT formats and in multiple languages. It is listed under the Transcription category. Fire is a digital payments platform. The Fire Business Account API returns JSON formats with payment data. Developers can integrate bank accounts, transactions, direct debit, and payment initiation. EmailListVerify Verify Email API ensures actual recipients receive emails from marketing campaigns. Developers can validate email addresses with email deduplication, domain validation, spam-trap removal, risk validation, syntax verification, and MTA validation. Chestnote is an API to build contextual messages. The Chestnote API enables users to add contexual messaging ability to applications, in an effort to maximize the impact of content delivery. Vamp provides automation and controls for enterprise DevOps. The Vamp API in REST architecture returns YAML and JSON formats, with resources for blueprints, breeds, deployments, escalations, gateways, proxy, metrics, and scales. Entity Digital Sports provides data feeds of sporting events data. Entity Digital Sports Basketball API provides team, match, competition, player and season statistics including live scores, pre-match odds, play by play, fantasy credits and more. Giant Swarm provides a fully-managed Kubernetes cluster, which can be used to deploy containers. The Giant Swarm API (v 4.0) provides developers with a RESTful solution for container management. With Giant Swarm, users have full admin rights to the cluster, so changes are accessible through the Kubernetes Giant Swarm API. The API is listed under the Microservices category. Back4App is a production ready environment for Parse deployment. Parse is an open-source backend framework initially developed by Facebook. The Back4App Parse API connects to the backend using REST architecture and JSON encoding. With the API, developers can build applications with backend resources such as file storage, user authentication, push notifications, and dashboards. Aiyo Labs is a customer chat platform. The company provides AI blocks for building chat applications, such as Vernaculars for language translation, Locate for aiding customers based on user location, and Demographics derived from facial recognition software. The Aiyo Labs Flock Connect Group API enables developers to manage WhatsApp group chat applications with methods for messaging, text, URL links, file sharing, and video documents. Postalytics provides direct mail automation marketing services. The Postalytics API can be used to integrate the services, with methods for managing accounts, contacts, templates, sends, campaigns, and more. The Postalytics API is listed under the Mail category. EOD Historical Data provides historical prices and financial data services, including EOD Historical Data Stock Price Data API, EOD Historical Data Upcoming Earnings API, and the EOD Historical Data Live/Realtime Stock Prices API. All the APIs provide historical stock prices for stocks, ETFs and Mutual Funds from 60+ stock exchanges and more than 120 000+ symbols globally. The APIs also support 120+ CRYPTO currencies and 150+ FOREX pairs, and are listed in our Financial category.

EdgeX Foundry provides an ecosystem for Internet of Things platforms based on open source configurations. The EdgeX Foundry API offers endpoints for client registration, scheduling, logging, and more. The API has a REST architecture and uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. The current configuration consists of a combination of a RaspberryPi 3B+ and a GrovePi sensor kit. The API is listed under the Internet of Things category. MetaSRA provides metadata annotation from the U.S. National Library of Medicine Sequence Read Archive (SRA). The MetaSRA API provides programmatic access to the current version of the database, with two resources: samples and terms. Samples can be accessed as JSON or CSV. MetaSRA labels biological samples with terms in the Disease Ontology, Experimental Factor Ontology, Cell Ontology, Uberon, and Cellosaurus. The API is provided by The Center for Predictive Computational Phenotyping (CPCP) at the University of Wisconsin, and is listed in our Genetics category. mTalkz SMS API allows developers to send bulk SMS to more than 225 countries. mTalkz operates over multiple channels and provides direct connectivity with nine telecommunication companies, including Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, MTS, BSNL, MTNL, Tata, Reliance, and Idea.
