Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb's directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there's a listing in one of our directories that you'd like to claim as the owner, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ten APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Insurance, Books, and Podcasts. Highlights include an API for automatically generating custom animated QR codes and an API for the ListenNotes podcast search engine. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
ACME Codes enables users to create animated QR codes. ACME stands for "Animated Codes Made Easy". The ACME Animated QR Code Generator API can be integrated into applications in order to create animated QR codes in real time. Animated QR codes provide 'call to action' scan targets for users and can be embedded with a company's branding, logo, or campaign. Clients requiring large volume animated QR codes and/or automated code creation can use the API as opposed to ACME's online QR code generator. This API is listed under the QR Codes category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of QR Codes APIs.
AXA is a global insurance provider. The AXA Insurance API allows quoting to travel, home, and car insurance policies. Developers can deliver instant insurance cover to customers through partner mobile applications, portals or automated chatbots in the right context. The APIs contain methods for distribution, customer service, claims management and more. This API is listed under the Insurance category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Insurance APIs.
StoryBlocks provides video, audio, and image content for enterprises. The StoryBlocks API is available to access video, audio, footage, and other types of royalty-free media. This API is listed under the Content category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Content APIs.
ListenNotes is a podcast search engine. The ListenNotes API allows applications to search the metadata of 415,934 podcasts and 24,678,052 episodes categorized by people, places, or topics. Search (almost) all podcasts & episodes that are found on the Internet. The ListenNotes API is listed under the Podcasts category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Podcasts APIs.
The PDF Generator API allows developers to generate PDF documents programmatically. This API also enables end users to create and manage document templates using a browser-based document editor. Each user has their own workspace, but developers can create default templates that are available to all users. Templates can be merged with data from the developer's software via REST API to create PDF and HTML documents. PDF Generator API is provided by Actual Reports, an Estonian company, and is listed under the PDF category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of PDF APIs.
Amara is a provider of video captioning and subtitling solutions. The Amara API is a RESTful platform for interacting with Amara's video subtitle functionalities. API methods are available for managing users, languages, subtitles, messages, activities, and more. Contact the company to request commercial deployment of the Amara platform. This API is listed under the Subtitles category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Subtitles APIs.
Sphere Research Labs' Sphere Engine provides programming and other IT skills testing services for recruitment, programming contests and education. The Sphere Engine Problems API allows the management of sets of programming tasks. The API returns solutions in over 80 programming languages. The API supports correctness status, execution time, consumed memory, and more technical details. The Sphere Engine Compilers API offers a way to compile and run source code in a third-party application. The API can be used to upload source code, execute programs, execute programs with input data, and fetch results with information such as: generated output, standard error, execution time, and consumed memory. Both APIs are listed under the Testing category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Testing APIs.
