Daily API RoundUp: ViSenze, Weglot, MasterCourses, DreamFactory, what3words

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

We've added six APIs to the ProgrammableWeb directory in such categories as Translation, Recognition, Email and File Sharing. Also added were SDKs for DreamFactory API Platform and what3words location pinpoint service. Here's a rundown of the new additions.

ViSenze ViSearch is a platform for reverse image search. Users can upload images or links as search queries instead of keywords. Their Search REST API allows developers to search pre-indexed images, search by color, and search by uploading images.

Use text-to-speech, recorded files, or both using CDYNE's network of geographically dispersed server farms. This API is categorized under Telephony. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Telephony APIs.

SDKs & Libraries

DreamFactory is a free open source REST API platform that runs in the cloud or on premises. DreamFactory can run on a Linux, Windows, or Mac desktop computer. The software package includes a complete LAMP Stack with PHP and a dedicated SQL database that can be installed on any server. An Android SDK, iOS SDK, JavaScript SDK, and .NET SDK by DreamFactory have been added to the directory.

what3words allows users to pinpoint any location on the globe using a unique 3-word combination. This allows users to relay exact (to 2 meters) locations to others in a format that is easier to remember than GPS coordinates. Users can access this functionality from their own applications using the free what3words API. Six SDKs are available that allow developers to communicate with the API to implement addresses, location, and localization features into applications. The are: Python SDK, Ruby SDK, JavaScript SDK, PHP SDK, Android SDK, and iOS SDK.
