Daily API RoundUp: Wargaming.net, SignalFx, DigitalGlobe, Indigo Domotics

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or Source Code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

We’ve added 6 APIs to the ProgrammableWeb directory today in Mapping, Monitoring, and Home Automation categories, among others. Here’s a summary of what is new.

DigitalGlobe provides satellite imagery, aerial photos, and geospatial content. The DigitalGlobe Maps API is a cloud-hosted solution that feeds high-resolution map content straight into web or mobile apps. Developers can use the API to access satellite, vector, and terrain content as well as build location-based applications.

DigitalGlobe has a new partnership with Mapbox to distribute its content and a newly released developer site. We’ve primarily categorized the DigitalGlobe API under the Mapping category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Mapping APIs.

CloudAtCost allows users to manage their servers even when the server network is disconnected. Users can add storage as needed and move virtual drivers from server to server. They can also add and remove IPs and even set their own reverse DNS records. The CloudAtCost API allows developers to access its cloud hosting services programmatically. We’ve primarily categorized the CloudAtCost API under the Cloud category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Cloud APIs.

SignalFx provides cloud-based application monitoring. The SignalFx API allows developers to submit data points, extract raw data, execute analytics jobs, and more. Users can send all of their metrics and events to SignalFx for processing, storage, and analysis. The API expands on tasks available through the SignalFx web interface. We’ve listed the SignalFX API under the Monitoring category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Monitoring APIs.

Indigo Domotics offers Mac-based home automation support for hundreds of smart devices. The Indigo Domotics API allows developers to monitor and control their smart home devices such as Aeotec Z-Wave and Insteon with third-party applications. Scheduling and triggering features allow users to automate smart home controls. This API is listed under the Home Automation category. See ProgrammableWeb’s complete list of Home Automation APIs.

Wargaming.net produces online games including World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes. The Wargaming.net Public API is an official set of API methods that provide access to Wargaming.net content. This includes in-game and game-related content, as well as personal player data and achievement statistics.
