Dailyl API RoundUp: Bower, Tapglue, 42matters, SureDone, DataMethods

Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.

Six APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Social, Advertising, Science, and eCommerce. Here, we summarize the new additions.

APIs

Tapglue provides an easy way for developers to integrate a social graph and a news feed into applicaitons in order to foster user engagement. The Tapglue API allows developers to create social products, and also allows for user profiles and login with real-time activity feed features.

Developers can add a social feed to applications via Tapglue API / image: Tapglue

We've categorized the Taplue API under the Social category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Social APIs.

Bower lets users manage client-side programming packages. The Bower API aims to consolidate the entire application development process by tracking libraries, frameworks and utilities. The API allows for fetching and installing packages from various resrouces. Bower keeps track of packages in a manifest file: bower.json. We've listed this API under the Developers category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Developers APIs.

42matters offers services for application discovery, engagement, analytics and market intelligence. The 42matters App Market API allows developers to query applications and access meta-data related to mobile applications that are available on the Google Play Store and the Apple AppStore. This API is listed at the Advertising category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Advertising APIs.

neXtProt is a human-centric data discovery platform developed by the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and Geneva Bioinformatics (GeneBio) SA. The neXtProt API allows developers to retrieve data on human proteins, including their function, expression, interactions, localization, sequence, and structures. We've listed the neXtProt API under the Science category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Science APIs.

SureDone provides tools for business management and an eCommerce platform with components such as carrier shipping, statistics, and custom domains. The SureDone API is available for developers to integrate into retail applications. It features inventory automation & management for vendors and multiple shopping channels. We've categorized the ccc API under the eCommerce category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of eCommerce APIs.

The DataMethods API saves users time during research and app development by delivering market intelligence data through a single site. The data supports sales, OPs, and supply chain planning functions by providing information in a geographical context. Each data set returns a comparison across local, state/region, and country. We've categorized the Supply Chain API under the Supply Chain category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Supply Chain APIs.
