Discover Card is First Issuer to Use New Google "Save to Wallet" API for Payment Cards

Discover has just become the first major credit card issuer to use the new Google "Save to Wallet" API for Payment Cards. Cardholders now have the ability to save cards to Google Wallet via the Discover account member benefits center.

Per the Google announcement, saving your Discover Card to Google Wallet is a very simple process and does not require entering in your credit card number.

To save your Discover Card to Google Wallet simply:

The Google Wallet App can be used for in-store purchases or when shopping online at merchants that accept Google Wallet as a payment method. By selecting Discover Card as the primary method Google Wallet will use, Discover cardholders can continue to earn Cashback Bonus® rewards for their purchases.

In the press release Robin Dua, Head of Product Management, Google Wallet states that:

“By providing a simple way for cardholders to securely add their credit card to Google Wallet directly from the Discover website, we’re extending the opportunity to pay with Discover through Google Wallet at hundreds of thousands of merchants."

The Google Wallet App is available on Google Android and on phones that are compatible with Google Wallet.
