Facebook Developers, It's Time for the Hacker Cup

Facebook has just announced registration for the second annual Hacker Cup. Programmers from around the globe will be judged on accuracy and speed as they race to solve algorithmic problems to advance through up to five rounds of programming challenges.

Registration is open for the first, virtual round of the Hacker Cup, where anyone can participate and have the opportunity to advance through three rounds of competition, with the 25 finalists of the third round invited to Facebook campus in Menlo Park for final competition.

The Hacker Cup will begin with a 72-hour Qualification Round on January 20, 2012 at 4:00 PM PT and ends on January 22, 2012 at 4:00 PM PT.  All registered competitors will be presented with three problems, with those correctly solving at least one problem advancing to the next three virtual rounds:

Online Round 1 - January 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM PT to January 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM PT, with top 500 competitors advancing.

Online Round 2 - February 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM PT to February 4, 2012 at 4:00 PM PT, with the top 100 competitors advancing.

Online Round - February 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM PT and end February 11, 2012 at 4:00 PM PT, with the top-scoring 25 competitors advancing to final rounds at Facebook.

Facebook will fly the top-scoring 25 competitors to Menlo Park, California, for the final rounds of competition on March 17, 2012, where they'll receive cash and prizes.  Out of these 25 finalists, one champion will emerge as winner, taking home the Hacker Cup trophy.

If you think you might be a good enough hacker, then head over to Facebook and register for the Hacker Cup and see if you have what it takes!
